Preventive Maintenance

This type of maintenance should be the primary way of taking care of our computer, because with this we extend the life of each component of our pc, we can implement this method in hardware and software, therefore; we can perform physical and virtual preventive maintenance, to maintain the software we will do it through free or paid programs, in short, we must perform the following actions:

Install the latest security updates for our operating system and all our programs.
Clean up our browsing data from time to time, start avoiding malware
Apply defragmentation to all our hard drives at least twice a week.

Never install software from dubious sources, this can damage our equipment or steal our passwords.
Install programs like AGVtunep to help clean the programs and functions of our pc.
Let's constantly delete temporary files and downloads that we don't use.

Install an antivirus that takes care of and protects our files on our computer and in the cloud.
We clean the recycle bin constantly to prevent it from saturating.

As the name of this type of maintenance suggests, its main objective is to prevent serious errors that are likely to have no solution and if they have it it could be a very expensive solution, or could lead to the loss of personal and work data.

Corrective Maintenance

Basically, the corrective maintenance of a computer is carried out with the aim of solving the problems that arise with the use of the equipment, that is to say repair what may have been broken, usually involves the change of one of the components of the hardware, or thorough review in the software, but at this point we occupy advanced technical knowledge so as not to damage our equipment, in short, we must perform the following actions:
Let's disconnect all the power cables that power our pc and get the static out of our hands.
We do not use screwdrivers with magnetic tip, magnetism can cause damage to some components.
Remember that usually the components of the PC are sensitive, therefore, you need to be careful not to affect the functioning of your computer.
When we disassemble our computer, let's do this work on a blanket or a plastic surface.
It never drops a component, especially the hard drive as they are very sensitive and can be damaged.
To clean all parts of your computer using compressed air to the maximum, this will remove all the dust especially from the motherboard.
