Gaza border crisis
My name is Falastin Iwais, and I am reaching out to you from the depths of my heart. My family and relatives in Gaza are facing unimaginable hardships and desperately need your help.
Every day, my family wakes up not knowing if they will have food to eat, clean water to drink, or a safe place to rest. Their homes have been destroyed, and my cousins and nieces have tragically lost their parents. They are now alone, vulnerable, and struggling to secure the most basic necessities: food, water, medicine, and shelter.
After nearly nine months of relentless genocide, Gaza's borders remain closed, trapping everyone inside. The only way out is to pay an exorbitant amount, between $8,000 and $11,000 per person, to cross the Rafah border into Egypt when it occasionally opens. For my family, the total cost to reach safety in Egypt is overwhelming and seems impossible to afford.
My family has lost everything. Some have tragically passed away, and those who remain are without shelter, moving from one temporary refuge to another in a desperate attempt to stay alive. Currently, they have fled south and are living in a makeshift tent made from plastic bags and torn clothes. Each day is a battle for survival.
